My mom, Katrina, has been diagnosed with embryonal sarcoma of the liver. This is a very rare cancer that has only affected 60 other adults.
Due to the rareness and aggressive nature of this cancer, my mom will be undergoing a very intense six months of chemotherapy. They are using some of the most aggressive forms of chemo to help destroy any lasting cancer cells after the removal of her tumor.
My mom has always been my rock. I am fully confident she will be defeating this disease because she is the strongest woman I have ever met. With everything that we have been through, I know our love and strength for each other will guide us through these very tough times.
With how aggressive the chemotherapy is, my mom will have to be admitted into the hospital for five days every three weeks to receive treatment. With this being said, she will be out of work for the next six months. Though she will be receiving disability and has some money in savings, this treatment will be very expensive and unfortunately bills and the cost of living doesn’t stop when your world does.
Fly460 has been a passion project for my friends and I to post our art and share our art with others. On our website, we will be selling custom portraits and all of our other regular merchandise. Any sales that we make for the next six months will be going directly to my mom to help with the cost of treatment and the other 10000 appointments she will have to attend.
